The Story

Over the limit

Every hike went one step beyond what the body could already do. The Männlichen — 2 km, five weeks after surgery — was over the limit then. So was each one after it. Controlled overreach, never comfort.

Recover

The push only pays if recovery follows. Overreach breaks the system down; recovery builds it back higher. Skip the recovery and the push is just damage.

New baseline

What was the ceiling becomes the floor. 2 km, once the limit, turned into the warm-up. The Rigi Traverse — 1,336 m up and 1,299 m down — was the hardest of them all, and for me the descent is the harder half. The line keeps moving up.

Over the limit. Recover. New baseline. Then again.
