Personal memories: Mount McKinley was my first real mountain. On summit day we had extreme conditions: -30°C, storms, 10 to 20 m visibility. With three teammates I started from the medical camp at 4200m and had a short rest at high camp. From there we forced ourselves forward to the pre-summit, with bad visibility and storms. There, the others stopped and I continued alone. Reaching the summit I was overwhelmed, I took two Tibetan prayer flags with me to assure myself: Yes, I made it.
