Personal memories: From the north side we had a wonderful view of Everest, which changed its expression daily. The team was international with different characters, different strengths and weaknesses. In the high camps I helped different teammates. On summit day we had fog and quite some wind. I walked alone to the top, with no assistance of a Sherpa. My oxygen bottle for the last part was only half-full; therefore I reduced the oxygen flow by 50%. It was a wonderful moment to stand on the top of the world, the fulfilment of my childhood dream.
