			Gernot Overbeck is a managing director of European Capital, a Private Equity Firm. An entrepreneur at heart, he has collected a broad and versatile business experience during his education and building up of two high tech ventures and one Private Equity firm as well as during his consultancy work with McKinsey & Company.



	He climbed Kilimanjaro in 2002, continued with Elbrus, Mount McKinley, Aconcagua and one year later he summited Mount Everest. Finally, in 2009 he finished the Seven Summits, climbing Carstensz Pyramid in alpine style. Gernot was the 24^th German on Everest and the 7^thGerman to finish the Seven Summits.

In spring 2002 I climbed my first mountain above 4000 m, Mount Kilimanjaro. One year later, after climbing Elbrus, summiting Mount McKinley under extreme conditions and Aconcagua, I stood on the top of the world, on Mount Everest. A dream came true. My belief was proven again:
